According to reports, 2 restaurants in Citta Mall in Petaling Jaya and Solaris Mont Kiara which are owned and operated by Meatworks Corp Sdn Bhd have ceased operations.

The chain for restaurants is linked to the family of Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the Wanita Umno chief. This follow the shutting down of 3 restaurants owned by the family in Singapore after they were embroiled in the widely publicized NFC (National Feedlot Corp) controversy. The family shut down Meatworks, Brawn Steakhouse and Brazilian churrascaria Senor Santos in Singapore which were operating at some upscale locations. The scandal caused Shahrizat to resign from her post as Minister of Women, Family and Community Development in 2012 after her husband, Datuk Seri Mohamad Salleh Ismail, the NFCorp chairman their three children were alleged to have misused the RM250million soft loan provided for NFCorp by the government.
