Tony Pua, the national publicity chief of DAP said that Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, the Attorney-General should be sacked over the PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) fiasco.
He said this in light of the acquittal of former transport minister Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy over the issue where the charges against him were withdrawn. Pua asked why Abdul Gani did not charge Chan with CBT (Criminal Breach of Trust) following the recommendations of the PAC (Public Accounts Committee) but instead charged Chan with cheating the prime minister at that time, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Pua added that the decision was mind-boggling as another former Transport Minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik was already acquitted over the same charge earlier.
