Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the president of MCA seems to like to get into the limelight for strange reasons. Well, he was after all the ‘star’ of a sensational sex video which threw him into the spotlight a couple of years ago.

That of course is no longer a topic to talk about because sex videos these days are all hurled at the opposition.

Dr Chua recently announced that he will not be contesting in the upcoming polls. In saying that, he became the first MCA president who was not fielded in the polls, drawing ridicule and criticisms from his political rivals.

But is it right for him not to contest? After all, he is the president of MCA, supposedly the largest Chinese component parties in Malaysia.

Only he can answer that, but the issue is, if he is not contesting, then what is he doing in politics?

How can he claim that MCA represents the Chinese community’s voice when the president is telling the world that he is ‘scared of losing’?

Maybe he wants to get into the government through the ‘backdoor’ way where he could be appointed senator should BN win again. Or maybe it is his peculiar situation where he cannot afford to lose again?

To be in politics, you need to be elected and to be elected you need to contest. Not contesting shows that you are scared. Think about it.
