Father Lawrence Andrew, the editor of Catholic newspaper The Herald is very much in the spotlight recently with the Allah controversy taking centerstage.
Everyone from politicians to NGOs (like Perkasa) to political parties and even individuals on the streets are giving their take on the issue and Father Lawrence is stuck in the middle. He had recently said that churches in Selangor will continue to use the Allah word in their Bahasa Malaysia service as there are many who are from East Malaysia. That has angered many quarters where he was even called in by the police to give his statement. He is being investigated under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948 for making the statement. Some has even accused him for treason.
