KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 — Umno’s general assembly this year will be held from Dec 8-12, Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today.
The Prime Minister said the dates were chosen in view of Malaysia hosting many international events in November.
“So we are holding it in December after the conclusion of the Parliament sitting,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting of Umno’s Supreme Council (MT) here.
Najib said Umno would continue to focus on party work in championing the people.

“What is close to the hearts of the people will continue to receive priority including in the upcoming budget.
“As such, I hope we can get good suggestions from various quarters to be included in the national budget,” he said.
