Malay rights wing group Perkasa said that they are unperturbed by the fact that funds might be cut off by Putrajaya.
Syed Hassan Syed Ali, the secretary-general of Perkasa said that there is no problem with no funding from Putrajaya as it was not much. In fact, he said that the funds were a lot lesser than those given to other NGOs. DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang has asked if the BN government has stopped its funding for Perkasa. Syed Hassan added that Perkasa does not accept the 1Malaysia concept if it is seen as a ‘Malaysian Malaysia DAP’. He added that defending the interests of the Malays, Bumiputera and Islam did not amount to sabotaging the 1Malaysia concept as mooted by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his administration.
